Somers

Somers is located in northern Westchester County and occupies about 33 square miles, most of which is located in the Croton Watershed (part of the New York City reservoir system). There are six hamlets within Somers, including Lincolndale, Shenorock, Granite Springs, Purdys, Baldwin Place and Amawalk.

Somers has a number of lake communities, including Lake Purdys, Shenorock and Lincolndale. The town also provides ample recreational opportunities for their residents such as Reis, Muscoot, Koegel and Lasdon Parks; and Angle Fly Preserve, with a 10-mile hiking trail. Ice fishing is allowed at the reservoir as well as row boats and fishing during the summer months.

There is an abundance of shops and restaurants to chose from. The main shopping hubs are Towne Centre at Somers and Somers Commons where you can find supermarkets and a variety of shops. In addition, there are plenty of shops all along Route 100. Dining choices include Italian, American, Seafood, Asian/Sushi, Indian, Delis, Cafes and much more.

Real Estate

Somers is the home of Heritage Hills, a large community featuring restaurants, club house, five swimming pools, tennis courts, shuttle service to Metro North and many recreational amenities for its residents. Heritage Hills consists of 2600 condos, clustered into 30 Condo groups with 53 models to choose from and is located on over 1,100 acres. The community features the privately run Somers Pointe Golf Club in Heritage Hills, which consists of one 18-hole golf course and one 9-hole golf course. There are also several upscale subdivisions in town including Pines Bridge Manor, Wooded Acres, Boulder Ponds and Merritt Park Estates where large colonials were constructed 2015-2020.  Smaller homes including capes, ranches and colonials are abundant in both the lake Lincolndale and Shenorock communities as well as in other parts of the town. And the Willows is a popular townhouse development comprised of 120 attached units that offers pool, tennis/ basketball courts and a playground.

Major roads through the town of Somers are US Route 202, US Route 6 and Route 100 with I -684 accessibility from east of the town. There are also MTA Metro-North trains stations in Purdys, Goldens Bridge, Croton Falls and Katonah. All of these stations will get you to Grand Central Station in about 65 to 75 minutes.
